This paper (Paper here) builds on the Gould-Fernandez Brokerage by introducing edge weights (such as frequency or perceived value of the connection). It would be really useful to able to provide a more nuanced interpretation of a node’s brokerage role that is not simply ‘positional’ but also incorporates value.
