I have a question about translation.
I have an organisation i am doing some research with and they have employees across a number of different countries. Will the questions set translate to mandarin at all for those completing in china?
Is there a way to get around this as some of the frontline staff don’t speak english?
Currently there are three possible approaches to translation when using Polinode:
- If there are just two or three languages - it’s possible to include the translation in the same survey. For example, to have the English question and then directly below it the say French version of the same question. That works quite well with a few languages but more than a few and it becomes impractical.
- If you know the language that each respondent would like to take the survey in you can create multiple versions of the survey - one in each language. You would then use a single supplementary list for all respondents across all surveys and the respondent list for each survey would be the respondents in that language. At the end of the survey you would export the results and then combine them before uploading a combined set of networks.
- If there are multiple languages (more than is practical for 1 above) and you don’t know the preferred languages of respondents, it’s possible to do 2 above but export each respondent list and then send your own email to respondents (not using Polinode for sending the emails) and that email can contain a link for each language that respondents can then select from.
On the current roadmap is the ability to export a survey to Excel in Polinode and then to upload translations of that survey that respondents can then choose from on the welcome page.
