I use the LastPass browser extension to manage my passwords. Usually when on a login page, username and password are automatically suggested by this extension. However on the Polinode Login page, username and password do not display and must be manually inserted. Has anybody encountered this issue before?
Hi @giuseppe_sardone. We have actually included the setting autocomplete=off in these form fields for security reasons. We do believe that Password managers are good security practice but we think that autocompletion of passwords is generally not the best security practice. That is why we have included this setting.
It may be possible for you to configure LastPass to ignore this setting if you prefer (though that would not be our recommended approach and not something that we can assist with). For example, this resource seems to suggest that that is the case: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/65913926/lastpass-what-exactly-does-this-do-respect-autocomplete-off-allow-websites-t
Thank you @apitts. It’s always a tradeoff between security and convenience. And security must be strong as we are dealing with customers’ data. In this case it’s a minor inconvenience. Although by manually copying and pasting the password from LastPass at every login I wonder if I am introducing other elements of risk?
Also, possibly redundant since I also use two-factor authentication?
Anyway, again it’s a minor inconvenience, we can live with it.
