I have a list where nodes may have aliases, for example “Mr Smith” and “Head of Sales” appear as two different choices to a question, however they are the same person and need to be combined.
The need to have them appear as separate choices is because the respondent may not know that Mr Smith is indeed the Head of Sales (for example they may know him by name and ignore his job title, or vice versa may want to select the Head of Sales without knowing the name of the person).
Is there a way to combine the nodes that have aliases?
Hi @giuseppe_sardone. I would suggest that you do not include Mr Smith and Head of Sales as separate nodes. Rather, I would recommend you include Mr Smith (Head of Sales) in the list (either Respondent List or Supplementary List as appropriate). That way respondents will be able to search either by the name (Mr Smith) or the title (Head of Sales) and select the same person. You will find that a search by the title in brackets will surface that item.
